MONTEREY, California — Northern California was the center of the automotive universe last weekend as car geeks from around the world descended on the Monterey Peninsula for the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
From post-war microcars to the 253-mph Bugatti Veyron, anything and everything on wheels could be found in Monterey. We were there to check out the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid as it made a lap of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and came back with a few gigs of pictures for you to drool over.
Above: We found this BMW Isetta 300 parked amongst a passel of Porsches, and absolutely everyone was stopping to check it out. We spotted it a few hours later in downtown Carmel, parked nose-to-the-curb behind a Mercedes-Benz. No one noticed the Benz.
