Nikon Coolpix S1000pj: World’s First Projector Camera Debuts

Nikon Coolpix S1000pj: World's First Projector Camera [Front Angle]

Nikon today introduced their new Coolpix S1000pj point-and-shoot, which is the very first digital camera to include a built-in projector. The projector-cam also sports a 12.1-megapixel sensor with ISO 6400 sensitivity, as well as a 5x wide-angle Nikkor lens with five-way VR image stabilization.

The S1000pj’s one-touch integrated projector is intended to make sharing your photos and videos easier, projecting an image from 5-inches up to 40-inches (1 meter) in size. You can operate the projector and normal camera functions via an included remote control, plus Nikon have thrown in a projection stand to free your hands completely during impromptu screening sessions. Very handy…’cause you’ll need your digits (along with your arms) to point out faces in your large projected pics (video below).

Also including a 2.7-inch wide-angle LCD, a Smart Portrait System for “red carpet smiles” and a Skin Softening function to airbrush blemishes right on the camera, the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj is available now on pre-order from Amazon.com for $429.95. Shipping will begin in September.
