MainGear , the company that targets its computers at gamers, has now had an upgrade for their Shift everyday supercomputer with the super fast Intel processor, Core i7 980X.
The MainGear Shift supercomputer is also equipped with USB 3.0 ports, which are meant to cope with many of the newly rolled-out USB 3.0 SSDs and flash drives on the market. The new MainGear Shift also packs with a 6GB Crucial c300 SSD that is able to reach speeds of 335 MB/s on sustained reads.
Since the new MainGear Shift is now packed with a number of new and high-performance hardware, the company has also taken effort to keep it as quiet as possible; the upgraded Shift is now integrated with AcoustiPack sound dampening that keeps the system with ultra low noise.
The Intel’s Core i7 980X processor used in the Shift, is said to be the fastest and smartest desktop processor on the planet.
