Inkia – the Chinese company that makes OEM MIDs, has added two new models, a 5-inch and 7-inch into its line. The two new Inkia MIDs are powered by the Intel Atom processor and they offer both 3G and WiFi as the Internet connectivity.
The Inkia 5-inch and 7-inch MIDs come with 800 x 480 touchscreens and they both take SSD of up to 32GB. The 5-inch model is the grey one in the picture, which has a choice of processors, either Atom Z510, Z520 or Z530 and each supported by the US15W chipset. The entire device measures 6.2 x 3.7 x 0.86 inches and weighs 12.3oz (about 349 g).
The Inkia 7-inch MIS offers both red and grey model, powered by a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor with the 945GSE chipset. The entire device measures 8.0 x 5.1 x 0.81 inches and weighs 1.5lbs (about 680 g). Inkia also has plan to roll out a VIA-based version of this 7-inch.
Each MID comes with 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity and also a 0.3 megapixel webcam. The 5-inch model adds a 3.2 megapixel, stereo speakers and a microSD card slot, while the 7-inch model offers an SD/MMC card slot, 10/100 ethernet and two USB 2.0 ports. Inkia is likely looking for others to rebrand these MIDs. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise some big names may carry these two MIDs but no news if they will be made available in US and Europe.
